English task unrelated to the rest of the blogs content

The main function of a school should be to prepare students for life, not further study.

What do you think?

First of all I would like to point that out that this statement is total garbage. Well, what makes me think that? To say that all schools should have one and one only purpose is slightly ignorant because most parents think differently about what their off-springs should learn and that is why they choose a specific school instead of another one. To deny one of the options would probably upset them greatly.
It is true that teaching students practical skills used in real life is important. However, preparation for further studies is also essential. Getting rid of the chance of a student to go to a University and only focus on the life without improving any of their skills required for jobs is not very practical.
For example there are times when a student wishes to have a specific profession which requires massive mathematical skills, but learning something else would deny the child that option and that would be unethical. Assuming that children do not wish to study more demanding subjects is slightly wrong.
Learning only the skills that are needed in real life is not efficient. The essential knowledge that are required by the pupils are always get inside their  head. They can learn them in school. They can learn them from parents. They can learn them by experience. They can learn them almost everywhere. Skills in mathematics, biology, chemistry and etc. are cannot be acquired from many places. Only limited amount of sources are available such as books and smart people (which are very rare).
The more important jobs require higher level education so people have to go to universities to learn the way of their profession. If they get rid of that the amount of more important people such as job providers would decrease meaning that the unemployment would increase. That is not an advantage to anyone in the world.
On the other hand the study of skills needed in the real world are not useful to any profession. Getting rid of that would be less destructive to the society compared to removing preparation for further studies because people without the "real life" skills would still get the jobs that they want since they still know what to do (depending on how much they studied).
These are the reasons why I think preparing for the "real life" is not really important when I look at the fact that the preparation for further studies is more essential.
